Making the most of your bridal make-up & hair trial

Below you will find some of my top tips to have a successful bridal make-up and hair trial!

1- CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULE

A bridal make- up and hair trial can sometimes take up to 4 hours so make sure you clear your schedule that day, make sure you have the time to clearly focus on your bridal make-up and hair.  You want to get it perfect for your big day. Having a trial will take the pressure off your wedding day and will also speed up the make-up and hair process for your wedding day.

2 – DON’T BOOK YOUR TRIAL AT THE LAST MINUTE

Book your bridal make-up and hair trial far enough in advance so if you are having any doubts there will be enough time to have a second trial. You want to make sure you are happy with your bridal make-up and hair and you shouldn’t have to settle for anything less than perfect.

3- GET INPSIRATION

Get looking on Pinterest, google images and Instagram. It’s great if you can think about some make-up and hair ideas before the trial so I can gauge your likes and dislikes and we can make the most of our time at the trial.

4- MANAGE YOUR EXPECTATIONS

Found an image of the hair you like? That’s great, however, just remember your hair may not be as thick or as long as the persons in the photo and may look completely different if you have a different hair colour.

5- DON’T BE SHY

Say what you’re thinking!  You won’t hurt our feelings, at the end of they day we just want to be on the same page and create your perfect bridal make-up and hair look you have always wanted.

6- ARE YOU WEARING ANY HAIR ACCESSORIES?

Hair accessories can really transform a hairstyle, if you’re thinking of wearing something in your hair please have it with you at the trial. If you have any favourite make-up products that you don’t go a day without wearing please bring them with you too, hopefully we can incorporate the products into your look.

7- REMEMBER WHO’S TRIAL IT IS

This is your make-up and hair trial, not anyone else’s. Getting advice from your nearest and dearest is great but don’t let them take over or persuade you, remember it’s your wedding day and it’s your decision.

8- HAVE AN OPEN MIND

It is called a trial for a reason, it’s a great time to try out the ideas you have but also take the time and listen to the suggestions of the hair and make-up artist, they will be able to tell you what will suit you best and what is likely to look better with what you have got.

9- ARRIVE WITH CLEAN HAIR & A FRESH FACE

Arrive at the trial with clean and dry hair, If it’s too dirty it’s not workable, there is only so much dry shampoo can do. Also, please have a clean and fresh face, this is then the perfect base to apply make-up to get the best application.

10- PURCHASE YOUR LIPSTICK

So, we found your lipstick colour for your wedding day, now I would suggest going out and purchasing it. There will be lots of kissing, eating and drinking so its great to have it to hand on the wedding day so you can top up whenever you need to and always be photo ready.

11- LAST BUT NOT LEAST

Don’t forget to ENJOY it, it’s meant to be fun after all.

I hope you found these tips useful!
